Main Street Menagerie Featuring Artist Jon Planas
Border Grill Truck & Live Painting by Max Neutra
80's celebrity artist Jon Planas discovered by Andy Warhol in NYC for his original one of a kind hand painted evening jackets and artistic notoriety for his contributions to the most successful advertising campaign in history the for the Absolut Vodka brand. Planas’ Main Street Menagerie paintings will commemorate the passing of Gidget, the famous Taco Bell Chihuahua icon. Planas pays homage to the pop art style of Andy Warhol, Keith Harring, and Jean Michael Basquiat, great artists whom he met while working in NYC in the early part of the 80's.
When: Progressive Exhibition Opening Reception Thursday, August 13, 2009/ 6pm-10pm; Artist Reception Thursday September 10, 2009/ 6pm-10pm; Meet Jon Planas: Artist Sessions at Bailey Gallery Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays August 20-September 6, 2009/ 2pm-6pm. All are welcomed.
